The Supper Letters is a newsletter by me, Megan Elaine, a twenty-something midwest dweller who loves to write and cook. I created this newsletter hoping it will satisfy my voracious heart that wants to cook meals and then tell about them. What will you find in these letters? I will share vignettes about cooking in my apartment kitchen, hunting for local goodies, and paying close attention to the magical life moments which happen amid wonderful chaos.

You’ll get honest glimpses of what’s on my plate throughout the week, messy and honest kitchen moments, recipes I find or create myself, and a collage of links to all the things I’m loving at the moment.

What supper means to me

Supper is the term my grandmother always uses to refer to the last meal of the day, often the biggest meal here in the midwest. When I think of supper, I think of a casual, informal meal often eat at home — whether around a table with with people you care about and good conversation or solo on the couch with some music playing in the background. It’s a time for nourishment and rest.

I hope these letters reminisce a cozy place that inspires you to eat well and love well.
